Tokenism, Not Just in TV

After the presentations about TV tokenism. I have started noticing it all around me. For example, I was watching to this music video. And I noticed that the only African American was a bartender. Out of the whole 3:32 minute music video. He got a total of 12.53 seconds. The rest of the people in the music video are white.

It's very interesting how even music companies are using token minorities in their videos. Showing really how widespread tokenism is.

Even on Apple's website for the iPhone. The two support people shown can be considered token minority. One, an asian man, is considered a racial minority, and the other, a white woman, is a minority in terms of rights (men have always had rights in the US; women, not so much).

It's interesting to see how widespread tokenism is in the world today, and what that says about us as a society.
